A mockup of a giant wall mural based on lyrics from the song "Fear Innoculum" by the hard-rock band Tool. An exercise in using typography on a large canvas and to express a building intensity of emotion going from thin, ethereal fonts to larger bold fonts with emphasis. Intended as a conceptual piece for public display for a musical or rock opera performance space. This piece would be a visual introduction to the audience before entering the theater displayed on a major wall in or near the performance space.
The color palette and type is evocative of the song's progression from gentle to an increasing intensity. Textured in the background are repeating lines of chants from the chorus and beginning verses along with some Easter eggs buried in the texture meant for the audience seeing the full-scale image to find.
Text features lyrics originally written by Maynard James Keenan, Danny Carey, Justin Chancellor, and Adam Jones. All works shown here are purely for educational and/or demonstrative purposes and not for public consumption or resale.
